Homeopathy is a time tested, scientific holistic complementary alternative health care method that uses naturally derived medicines, called remedies. Homeopathy was founded in the late 18th century by a medical translator, physician, and alchemist named Samuel Christian Hahnemann. Hahnemann came up with the term “homeopathy,” which means “similar suffering,” to describe the foundational principle of this medical science.
According to the principles of homeopathy, diseases can be cured only when the living being (person, plant, animal) is stimulated by medicines capable of producing similar symptoms to the disease that is present.
When medicines are given that suppress the symptoms, you might initially feel better, but the disease condition is not actually cured, and can come back with even more severe symptoms, or with side effects. This can cause chronic disease. It can also lead to other types of illness and a general decline in your general health. A common example of this is the suppression of childhood skin rash with a protocol of steroid creams. The rash might go away for a few months, then come back with more severity. More concerning, the skin symptoms might get better, but then the child might develop symptoms of asthma issues. This progression of disease from the skin to the respiratory system is not a direction of cure, but a decline in well being.
The Homeopathic approach is different: your trained professional listens carefully during an initial consultation to discern the client's unique totality of symptoms. They then carefully research and recommend a fitting remedy given in the strength and manner of dosing that matches the client's vitality. Homeopathic medicines are very diluted, and they are dynamic. These remedies, when chosen by a carefully trained professional, are taken in a way that helps stimulate the body’s physiological response to restore health. They are recommended in small doses and so there are no harmful side effects.
Homeopathy is therefore safe to use while pregnant or nursing, with children, and with chronically ill or elderly patients. There are no known drug interactions, so you can safely take homeopathy while taking your current medications. Homeopathic remedies are gentle and yet very effective when taken as recommended by a trained professional.
Homeopaths, or those who practice homeopathy, do not seek to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease. Rather, they strive to understand and unconditionally accept each client they are working with, and provide them with the remedy that will stimulate their body’s natural healing response so that they can be restored to health.
Homeopathy can help many of the same issues that over-the-counter medicines are used for, such as colds, flus, allergies, stress, arthritis pain, muscle pain, sleep issues, teething, and more.
